The Matchbook Registry

The Matchbook Registry is a compilation of matchbooks collected mostly by Daniel Blackman, his grandfather, and his mother.

Daniel Blackman is a graphic designer/ art director currently living and working in the Philadelphia Area. He graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL with a BFA in Graphic and Interactive Communication. He’s worked with such companies as VSA Partners, Fwis, and 160over90, for clients including Loyola University Maryland, Nike, Caterpillar, MTV, HUB, Michigan State, DeLonghi, HangTen, American Eagle, MIT and many others.

Daniel’s work has been featured in HOW Magazine, Uppercase Magazine, Communication Arts, Design Bureau Magazine, Ballista Magazine, Creative Review, Design Work Life, Lovely Package, NotCot, ffffound and FPO. So far in 2011 he has received awards from GD USA, AIGA Philadelphia, FPO and was most recently named a Young Gun by the Art Directors Club for YG9.

The beautiful illustrations (on the right) mapping Chicago, are published in Graphic USA, an alternative travel guide.
